where i'm serving

If you have no idea where Armenia is..

no worries because I was right there with ya!

Here is a handy dandy map I found of the geography around Armenia!

as you can see it is bordered by Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey.

It is a small country, only about the size of the state of Maryland!

Here is a detailed map of the country itself, so when I tell tell you which areas I am serving in you can reference here to pinpoint my location!.. (or if you are in a creeper mood google maps will work as well)

Surrounded by Muslim countries, it comes as a surprise to most to discover that Armenia is predominantly Christian!

Armenia was the first nation in the world to adopt Christianity in 301 AD

Here are some of the ancient monasteries around Armenia

Here is Yerevan, the capital of Armenia

In the back you can see Mount Ararat, yes.. the same that Noah's arc is claimed to have landed upon
yes.. you can count on me singing the classic girls camp song throughout my mission every time I see that mountain..

"noah noah there's gonna be a floody floody!"

Now.. let's get to the exciting stuff. The Armenian language.

There are 38 symbols in the Armenian alphabet. I would say letters but as you can see I don't know what you would call these guys.

The Armenian alphabet was created to make Christianity preached to all in a common native language. In 405, St. Mesrop invented the alphabet through divine revelation.

Here is a kind man on youtube who has taught curious learners like myself simple Armenian phrases.. although I do not see how "thank you" is considered a simple Armenian phrase (just wait!)

For those that know me, you know that I love my food. Of course I have researched quite a bit, and I am most exciting for this particular cuisine...

LAVASH!!!

apparently Armenia is known for this tasty bread.. meaning I will be in heaven!!!
 (manna from heaven that is!)

I am so excited to serve the people of Armenia. I already feel a love for them that I know comes directly from our loving Heavenly Father who has prepared them to receive His gospel.
